This article is one of my “Favorites”, a place I particularly enjoyed and which has a dedicated page on the blog.

“Innkeeper, bring me food for I am hungry!”

Tallinn has always been proud of its medieval traditions and the Olde Hansa also participates in the interest of local tourists and for that period of time. You will find under the same roof an incredible shop and a great restaurant, both perfectly “medieval”. The restaurant offers guests a menu and decor designed to offer the most authentic experience in this area. Here we are in the Middle Ages and the atmosphere is taken to the extreme: waiters wairing old clothes, candlelight, medieval music, dishes and ingredients all follow in the same style. The building even has a medieval toilet! Olde Hansa is by far one of the best restaurants in Tallinn I had the opportunity to try and I recommend it at 100%!

  • At the heart of Tallinn, in the old town and just behind the City Hall.
  • Delicious medieval meals cooked like in old times old and served in wooden, glass or clay tableware!
  • Medieval atmosphere completely successful and that, in every detail. I had so much fun, really loved it!
  • The staff is young, very friendly and always smiling.
  • A little more expensive than average restaurants in Tallinn, without being totally unaffordable.
  • Often very crowded, either you have luck and get a free table quickly or you will have to book a few hours, sometimes a day in advance. But the wait is worth it!
